Kajal Shrestha (Nepali: काजल श्रेष्ठ) (born 21st November 1997 in Sindhupalchok, Nepal) is a Nepalese taekwondo practitioner and Gold medalist at the 13th South Asian Game 2019 held in Kathmandu, Nepal. Shrestha beat Pakistan's Syed Zadi Sidra Batool 50-14 in the finals. In 2014 at the age of fifteen she was qualified for Junior World Championship which was held in Taipei, Taiwan representing her nation Nepal where she she lost against China.
Shrestha started playing taekwondo at the age of thirteen in Koteshwor Taekwondo Dojang which is one of popular Dojang in the nation under coached by Mr. Nabin Kumar Shrestha. She holds the record for highest number of gold medals in Necos National Game and two-time best player. Because of such achievement since 2016 she has associated with Nepal Army club under coached by Ms. Sangina Baidya and from 2018 under coached by Mr. Deepak Bista. Since then, she has hat-trick of Gold medal in COAS Trophy National Championship. Kajal has hat-trick of Gold medal in Korean Ambassador National Championship with two-time best player award. Additionally, She has got numerous gold medals in different events like 2nd Manmohan Adhikari Memorial International Taekwondo Championship 2012, 1st Everest National Game 2015 held in Nepal, Sarawak Chief Minister Borneo Cup 2019 held in Kuching, Malaysia 2nd India Open International Taekwondo Championship 2017 held in Jaipur, India and in many national competitions.
In December 2023, she participated in the 126th Kyorugi International Referee Seminar conducted by World Taekwondo from 7 to 10 December 2023 in Muju, Korea. She successfully passed the seminar and achieved the status of an International Referee. As a result, she currently holds the distinction of being the youngest International Taekwondo Referee in Nepal.
